Brother Walter Simon was born on June 13, 1935, graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School and earned his undergraduate and graduate degree in Personnel Management from George Washington University. While in high school, he met Adele Lubitz in Dance Club and they’ve been dancing ever since. They were married on June 2, 1957, have three children, two boys and one girl and have seven grand children.

Brother Simon has worked with the DC City Post Office, the United States Postal Service and the United States Court system. He retired in 1994 but still continues to work in a part-time capacity.

In 1976 he received his Master Mason’s degree along with his father, Harry Simon in Samuel Gompers Lodge No. 45. In 1982 he became the Master of the Lodge. During that year, he, his father, and son joined the Scottish Rite–three generations at one time. Worshipful Brother Simon later joined Almas Temple and Mt. Pleasant Chapter, Royal Arch Masons. For 15 years he served the Grand Lodge as Assistant and Deputy Grand Chaplain. He was Secretary of his Blue Lodge for 14 years, is now Secretary of an Eastern Star Chapter and Secretary of three Shrine Units including the Clown Unit.
